The following is the course content for our Train the Trainer program. Please note that this can be customized to the specific needs of your training organization.
Adult Learning
At the conclusion of this segment, participants will be able to:
| List Gardner’s Seven Intelligences. | |
| Determine which are their own top three intelligences. | |
| Discuss ways in which training can be targeted to reach all seven. | |
| List the importance of past experiences and appealing to self-interest in adult learners. |
Needs Assessment
At the conclusion of this segment, participants will be able to:
| List three questions that will help describe a performance discrepancy. | |
| Ask questions to rate the importance of a given training request. | |
| Determine whether a performance problem is caused by a skill deficiency. | |
| Explain the factors that can diminish or enhance the impact of training. |
Developing Objectives
At the conclusion of this segment, participants will be able to:
| Correctly state three reasons why Instructional Objectives are important. | |
| Develop a course objective, determine the key learning points and stage a hierarchy for that objective. | |
| State the three reasons why Objectives, Key Learning Points and a Staged Hierarchy are critical to the defense of a course. |
Evaluations
At the conclusion of this segment, participants will be able to:
| List Kirkpatrick’s four levels of evaluation and how to measure each. | |
| Discuss the influences that can impact each level. |
Engagement Techniques
At the conclusion of this segment, participants will be able to:
| State the relationship between tension and retention. | |
| Integrate Icebreakers into their ongoing training efforts. | |
| Find applications for five icebreakers. | |
| Apply checkpoints into their existing training efforts to measure retention or attitudes. | |
| Identify at least five methods for building in checkpoints. |
Facilitation Techniques
At the conclusion of this segment, participants will be able to:
| Differentiate opportunities for Presentations Vs Facilitations. | |
| Determine the optimal room set up for facilitation. | |
| Apply a three-step process for debriefing to all role-play situations. | |
| Apply any of twelve techniques to help work a group. |
Stage Presence
At the conclusion of this segment, participants will be able to:
| Improve their ability to make eye contact. | |
| Keep their presentations interesting through effective movement. | |
| Avoid the top five distractions that draw learner's attention away. | |
| Make better use of their voice projection. |
Media Tips & Techniques
At the conclusion of this segment, participants will be able to:
| List techniques to effectively use a Flip Chart, PC Projector, Overhead Projector and VCR to help facilitate a group. | |
| Identify the eleven key elements that add up to effective PowerPoint presentations. | |
| Discuss three techniques that all presenters should utilize when delivering a PowerPoint presentation. |
Problem Participants
At the conclusion of this segment, participants will be able to:
| Identify the three most common types of participants. | |
| Identify when Cross Generational differences may be causing problems. | |
| List the most common problem participants and develop strategies for dealing with those participants. |
